Taking care of your new tattoo is a crucial part of the tattooing process, ensuring that your artwork heals beautifully and remains a stunning expression of your individuality for years to come.
1. Remove the plastic wrap from your tattoo 2-3 hours after application . Do not remove the plastic until you are at a place where you can clean your tattoo.
2. With clean hands, thoroughly wash your tattoo with a non-scented anti-bacterial soap and pat dry with a paper towel.
3. Apply a thin layer of ointment or non-scented lotion to your tattoo. Repeat these steps 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks.
Do not submerge your tattoo - Showers and normal hygiene is okay, but no swimming, no hot tubs, etc.
Avoid excessive sweating - No intense exercising, heavy la bar, saunas, etc.
Don't get toasted! - Avoid over-exposure to direct sunlight and absolutely no tanning
If using a 'second skin' type of tattoo bandage, leave your bandage on for 2-4 days before proceeding to regular aftercare instructions.
SIDE NOTE: it is completely normal to observe a pooling of fluid (plasma, ink, etc.) under your bandage!
